Mission

To create a conducive business environment for water and sanitation entrepreneurs in Uganda, through effective advocacy and the delivery of demanded business development services

Core values

At WASEU, we have chosen five core values that define how we shall conduct ourselves and help us create value for our partners

  • Integrity- We are open, honest and transparent in all our dealings. In addition, we are accountable to our members and partners.
  • Respect- We value the strengths, experiences, and perspectives of others, and we recognize our own limitations
  • Teamwork– We are committed to an environment where every person is a valued member, treated with respect, encouraged to contribute and recognized and rewarded for his/her efforts
  • Innovation-We continuously apply information, imagination and initiative to generate new ideas and value for our members
  • Non-discrimination – We are committed to a policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, creed, gender identity or disability

Our Guiding Principles

  • The ‘client should pay’-where possible
  • We seek to develop a market for BDS rather than a dependency on aid
  • BDS services provided by our members should meet the needs of the clients
  • Donor funding should only leverage government or private sector investment in BDS
  • Donor funding should target
  • Donor funding should not be crowding out the market for entrepreneurs
  • BDS services should be accessible to those who genuinely cannot afford to pay for them
