WASEU’s methodology revolves around building a resilient Jua Kali Business Ecosystem, focusing on.

DEMAND

WASH & Green business service delivery should respond to demand, which means providing services that people both want and are willing to pay for. WASEU supports the creation of a market place in which households invest in WASH & Eco-solutions when presented with a range of low-cost options.

TECHNOLOGY

TECHNOLOGY

To ensure the long-term and sustainable use of WASH & Green business services and products, WASEU works with local partners to identify and adapt low cost and appropriate technologies which meet the needs of the poorest rural households. We also catalyse local artisan businesses (e.g associations of handpump mechanics) to maintain WASH & Green technologies and offer other technical services.

FINANCE

FINANCE

To help overcome the financing hurdle, we provide technical assistance to MFIs on financing WASH & Green enterprises. Specifically, we design and deliver training on technical aspects of WASH & Eco-entrepreneurship. We also support WASH enterprises to become more credit-worthy.
